Increasing tree cover together with the community at our local park

In late 2019 a sub-group formed to plan and work towards trees being planted in the park.  The group liaised with East Lothian Council, Dunpender Community Council and East Linton Primary School to identify an appropriate area in the park for the trees.  Funds were raised through rescue saplings and innovative tree vouchers sold at the Christmas Market, which enabled a larger number of people within the community to part own the trees.  The trees were planted in February 2020 with children from the Eco Committee of the primary school and other volunteers, on a bright sunny day.
