Wildflowers at the park

A space dedicated to wildlife! As part of the Wildlife Network a wildflower area has been sown at East Linton park. Through a wildflower workshop 16 participants learnt when best to sow, different preparations of the ground, what to expect from a wildflower area and how to manage it.

Sally Gouldstone from Seilich facilitated the workshop, with support given by the council and community council, and funding for the seeds provided by Nature Scot. Seeds were given to each participant to take back to their own gardens and spaces to create further wildflower areas.

It will be exciting over the coming years to see the different wildflowers emerging and which wildlife benefit from it.
